Reminders

Reminders is a personal, cross-entity list of every reminder the signed-in user has set — across matters, tasks, leads, hearings, contacts and calendar items — with a place to review, filter, edit and delete them, or start a new one against any record.

What's on the list

The list shows only the signed-in user's own reminders, gathered from every kind of record a reminder can attach to — nobody else's reminders appear here.

A free-text search box filters across reminders, and a status filter narrows the list to Upcoming or Past. Status is derived, not chosen: a reminder whose remind-at time is still ahead reads as Upcoming, and one whose time has passed reads as Past — the user doesn't set it directly.

Creating a reminder

A reminder can never exist on its own — it must always be attached to a record. Where you start from decides how that attachment is handled:

  • From the standalone Reminders page, Create opens the reminder dialog with a record picker first: search and pick the legal matter, task, lead, hearing, individual or organization contact, or calendar item the reminder belongs to. Saving is blocked until a record is chosen.
  • From a specific record's own Reminders panel, the same dialog opens with that record already attached — the picker doesn't appear.

Remind-at validation differs by mode. Creating a reminder requires a future date and time — a past one is rejected. Editing one allows a past remind-at, because an existing reminder may already have elapsed without the user changing it.

Editing and deleting

Editing reuses the same dialog. The existing attachment is kept and the record picker is hidden — editing changes the reminder's own fields, not which record it belongs to. Deleting a reminder is a per-row action guarded by a confirmation step; once confirmed it applies immediately, and if it fails the item stays and the failure is surfaced.

What a reminder can attach to

A reminder's related record is one of:

A record's own detail page can reuse this same list, scoped to just that record's reminders — a lead's page and a contact's page both do — so the rules above apply there too.

How a due reminder reaches you

Notifications carries its own Reminders filter tab, and opening a reminder-type notification there opens this page.

Who can use it

There's no permission gate: every authenticated firm user can open Reminders and manage their own. The list is always scoped to the signed-in user and never surfaces anyone else's reminders.
